Bullying is a horrible part of growing up. Nearly every child in America is bullied at some point and many face nearly constant bullying throughout their childhood.  Yet, some studies show that bullying is recognized and stopped by teachers, parents, administrators and other youth leaders only 4% of the time.  Many times adults see bullying as part of growing up and think that it's just "kids being kids", but there is nothing about bullying that should be seen as just part of the pitfalls of growing up.  Extensive studies have shown that bullied kids show the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder.  We need to educate our students and teachers on bullying - it is the first to step to bullying prevention. Here a few of the ways bullying manifests itself on school age children.

A while back an email circulated that talked about what the world would look like if it was compressed into a Village of 100 with all the existing human ratios remaining the same.  The email went viral because the results of this compression were so compelling.  It made the need for tolerance and understanding even more apparent and spawned a diversity video called Village of 100.
